Detoxing with Coriander and Lemon

I've been drinking coriander and lemon for sometime now BECAUSE.....

..... I want to detox.

Yes, I am drinking this concoction for detoxing purposes. But I usually drink it for 10 days starting from my first day of having my "period". I blend water, lemon, and coriander leaves (with its stems) then drink them upon waking up,on an empty stomach.

After subjecting myself with numerous drugs and meds in order to get pregnant, causing me hormonal problems, sluggishness, lack of zeal, pimple breakouts, and of course, weight gain at its worst, a much needed detoxing is really highly recommended.

For now I feel better and lost a few kilogram. When I started with this detox program,I weighed about a few grams short of 62kg.  After 2 months of drinking this coriander-lemon concoction and a few adjustments on my food intake, I'm now at 59 kg (9kg more to go).  My weight-loss is a slow process I know but I'm positive I'll get there :-) I've started adding exercise to my daily routine too :-)

On Lemon and Coriander:

Coriander, according to some scientific studies (source: whfoods ), helps control of blood sugar, cholesterol and free radical production as well
which can be attributed to its phytonutrient content.

Lemon on the other hand contains phytonutrients with antioxidant and antibiotic affects  (source: whfoods ) which is highly beneficial to our health

According to webmd: below are the uses and effectiveness of lemon :
  • Meniere's disease. There are some reports that a chemical in lemon called eriodictyol glycoside might improve hearing and decrease dizziness, nausea, and vomiting in some people with Meniere's disease.
  • Kidney stones. Not having enough citrate in the urine seems to increase the risk of developing kidney stones. There is some evidence that drinking 2 liters of lemonade throughout the day can significantly raise citrate levels in the urine. This might help to prevent kidney stones in these people.
  • Treating scurvy. Scurvy is a condition caused by a lack of vitamin C. Lemon can provide some missing vitamin C.
  • The common cold and flu.
  • Decreasing swelling.
  • Increasing urine.
  • Other conditions.
CAUTION: More evidence is needed to rate the effectiveness of lemon for these uses.

Here is the uses and effectiveness of Coriander according to webmd:

  • Constipation. Early research suggests that drinking a specific tea containing fennel, senna, licorice, orange peel, cassia cinnamon, coriander, and ginger (Smooth Move by Traditional Medicinals) for one month can reduce constipation in older people.
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Early evidence suggests that, when used along with usual treatment, taking 30 drops of a product containing lemon balm, spearmint, and coriander three times daily after meals for 8 weeks reduces stomach pain and discomfort in people with IBS.
  • Stomach upset.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Spasms.
  • Intestinal gas (flatulence).
  • Diarrhea.
  • Bacterial or fungal infections.
  • Measles.
  • Hemorrhoids.
  • Toothaches.
  • Nausea.
  • Painful hernia.
  • Worms.
  • Joint pain.
  • Other conditions.
CAUTION: More evidence is needed to rate the effectiveness of lemon for these uses.
