Tuna Sisig with Mayonnaise


I will let you in my little secret about this tasty tuna sisig recipe.  I made use of leftover grilled tuna (whispering). Yep (head nodding and smiling), this is a delicious leftover dish.

It was like this, my husband grilled two large whole tuna a few days before Christmas last year. One whole tuna was left untouched so I immediately  wrapped it in an aluminum foil and cling wrap and stashed it in the freezer. Come medya noche, I saw the tuna, thawed it and made sisig out of it.  It was delicious you know.  You wouldn't think that it was made out of leftovers :-)

So, if you have grilled fish (regardless of the fish's specie) leftovers after a party, turn them into fish sisig.  It's easy, simple, economical, practical, and very delicious

     TUNA SISIG

Ingredients : 

Grilled tuna leftovers
Bell Pepper, chopped 
Garlic, chopped - 5 cloves

Onions, chopped - 2 large
Black Pepper Powder 
White Pepper Powder 

Lime Juice - 2 to 3 tbsp
Knor Seasoning - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Mayonnaise 
Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp


Cooking Procedure : 
 

1. Flake the tuna.

2. Heat oil and garlic under medium fire,  stir. Toss in half of the onions, then the bell pepper, stir fry for about a minute.
3.  Add the tuna and stir fry for about a minute.
4. Season with lime juice, salt, knor seasoning, black pepper powder, white pepper powder.  Continue stirring until the dish is totally dry.
5. Remove from fire and cool down.
6. Once the tuna cooled down, mix the remaining onions and the mayonnaise.  Add more salt as needed
