Beef Tapa - I

Beef tapa.  That’s the common food in the house last week.  Here’s another beef tapa recipe by the Sarmiento family.  This is a sweet version, sweeter than my version of beef tapa :-) I will also be posting later the beef tapa recipe of my husband which is sour and a bit salty.

     BEEF TAPA

Ingredients :

Beef, sliced thinly – 500 g.

Tapa sauce:

Sugar – 1 tbsp
Garlic – 8 cloves
Light Soy Sauce – 60 ml
Vinegar – 60 ml
Sprite – 120 ml
Ground black pepper

Curing / Preserving Procedure:
  1. Mix well all the ingredients of the tapa sauce.
  2. Pour the sauce over the slices of beef.  Transfer it in a plastic bag with zip lock and refrigerate.
  3. Marinate it for at least 1 hour before cooking.

Cooking the beef tapa:

  1. Put the marinated beef tapa in a frying pan, with cooking oil, and water (just enough to cover the meat).  Bring it to a boil.
  2. Continue simmering it until the meat are tender and all the liquid had evaporated.
  3. Let the meat fry on the oil.

Serve and enjoy
