Beef & Pineapple Pizza

Frederick’s concept of pizza is something with pineapple on it so I made beef & pineapple pizza for supper tonight which I enhanced with lots of mozzarella cheese (Frederick added some more).
It’s an easy dish to make.  You can buy the pizza crust from the supermarket, but for us, we prefer making our own pizza crust from scratch rather than buying a frozen dough or par-baked pizza crust that is loaded with preservatives.  In this way we are assured that only the finest and healthiest ingredients are used :-) and that the sugar, sodium, and fat contents are regulated.  Serious :-)
Here’s a great and easy recipe to follow:

Pizza dough – see recipe and cooking procedure at Basic Pizza Dough
Sweet Pizza sauce – see recipe and cooking procedure at Easy Sweet Pizza Sauce

Mozzarella cheese, grated – 200 g.
Beef, ground – 150 g.
Pineapple, sliced into bite sizes – as desired
Green and/or Red Bell pepper  – 70 g.
Mushroom – as desired
Onion, sliced into rings – 1 medium size

Assembly and Cooking Procedure:

1.  Prepare and bake pizza dough as per instruction under Basic Pizza Dough . Set aside to cool down.
2.  Prepare and cook the sweet pizza sauce based on the recipe – Easy Sweet Pizza Sauce
3. Pan simmer the beef until it’s cooked.  make sure that all liquid evaporated.
4. Spread pizza sauce evenly on top of the par-baked pizza crust.
5. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese, cooked beef, pineapple, bell pepper, mushroom, and onions.
6. Top with the remaining grated mozzarella cheese.
7. Preheat oven.  Bake at 200 degrees celsius for 20 minutes.

Serve with chili sauce.  And of course an ice cold coke goes very well with it :-)

PS:  My apple pie is coming out of the oven in a few more minutes :-)
