Antioxidant Powerhouse Drink





Do you know what's common among these foods: grapes, strawberries, cranberries, and green tea?  These are food loaded with antioxidant that are beneficial to our health and well-ness:


According to www.cranberryinstitute.org , scientific research shows that cranberries and cranberry products contain significant amounts of antioxidants and other phytonutrients that may help protect against heart disease, cancer and other diseases like urinary tract infection, increase levels of good cholesterol (HDL), etc.


Grapes contain flavonoids.  For everyone's knowledge, flavanoids are very powerful antioxidants.


Green tea is made from unfermented leaves and reportedly contains the highest concentration of powerful antioxidants called polyphenols. That holds true with black tea, oolong tea, and white tea.  These products of camellia sinensis are rich in anti-oxidants.


Strawberries are shown to be a potent source of antioxidants in a body of research published in the journal Food Chemistry. In vivo studies confirm that regular consumption of the flavorful fruit raises antioxidant blood saturation levels. This can help to lower the risk of chronic diseases ranging from heart disease and cancer to metabolic disorders including diabetes. These are the reasons why I called this drink and Antioxidant Powerhouse.  Here's our simple and easy to follow recipe:
Ingredients:
Cranberry juice (del monte), cold - 300 ml
Strawberry fruits - 100 g.
Red Grapes - 100 g.
Green tea water, cold - 300 ml (see Tea Water for the recipe)
Procedure:
1. Place the strawberries and grapes in a blender and press pulse to make a smooth puree.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend.
Serve cold.
Good for 3 servings . Here’s the estimated Nutritional values per serving based on the ingredients used. 

Calories :  79.46 kcal
Total Fat:   0.37 g.
Cholesterol :  0 mg.
Saturated fat : 0.03 g.
Protein :  2.04 g
